I was born on 11 August 1951 at home with my parents in Slikkerveer (Ridderkerk), Graaf Adolfstraat 109.
I have one sister, Rianne (Kornelia Adriana), born at home in Slikkerveer 12 January 1955.
Rianne is married (on 19 August 1983 in Bruenen,Germany) to Boris (born 2 October 1952 in the Czech Republic). They have 2 children, Silja Hanna (born 7 January 1984) and Hilmar Jan (born 11 September 1986).
My mother is Grietje ("Gre") Lagendijk, born in Ridderkerk on 1 October 1924 in Slikkerveer at home with her parents.
She married my father on 18 March 1948.
My father is Johannes ("Jo") Versendaal, born at home in Ridderkerk 23 December 1920, he died at home on 26 December 2000, just after his 80th birthday, where the whole family was united.
My mother's parents are: Cornelis ("Cees") Lagendijk, born in Ridderkerk 23 July 1901 (he died in in 1988) and Peterje Sijgje ("Pietje") Broekhuizen, born in Rotterdam 12 September 1902. She died in 1981. They got married on 3 January1924.
My mother had one brother, Reinardus ("Nardus"), born 10 April 1927, who died in 1964. He was married to Marie Nugteren. They have two children, Cornelis ("Cees"), born 22 November 1956 and Maria Margareta ("Marja"), born 6 June 1960.
Cees is married to Anja Tiemens, they have two children, Reinard and Mathijs.
Marja is married to Bram Hooghart, they have two children, Bram and Marina.
My grandfather had 6 brothers, of which one died young.

Arie, 1899-1971, married M.H.v.d.Staay, 1 daughter.
Teun, married Sijgje de Bie.
Marinus, 1904-1981, married M.A.Rijsdijk, 1 daughter.
My grandfathers parents were Jan Lagendijk, born in 1867 in Ridderkerk, he died in 1954, and Maria Cornelia Verloop from Oud/Nieuw Beierland.
My grandmother had one brother, Dirk, 1908-1990 (married Johanna Kooiman, they had 9 children) and one sister, Sijgje Petertje who married Bas van Gelder. They had 10 children.
My grandmothers parents, who got married on 15 November 1901, were Reinardus Broekhuizen (who died 11 August 1911 age 33) and Grietje Lagendijk, who died 18 January 1909, age 32.
My father's parents are: Adrianus ("Janus") Versendaal, born 2 November 1900 (he died in 1970), and Kornelia Janna Muilwijk ("Kor"), born 1 June 1902 in Kerkdriel. She died in Rotterdam 4 June1988 and is buried in Ridderkerk.
My father has one younger brother, Kornelis Engelbert ("Kor"), born 26 September 1923, who married Ria Kreuk, born 23 September 1927. Kor died on 5 October 2002.
They have two sons, Adrianus ("Andre"), born 14 November 1958 (who is married and has 3 sons) and Kornelis Engelbert ("Eric"), born 12 June 1963, unmarried, no children.
My grandfather's parents were Johannes Versendaal ("de witte Johannes"), born in Strijen in 1850 (died 15 May 1923 in Ridderkerk) and Hendrika Vos, born 1856 in Strijen. She died 21 March 1934 in Ridderkerk
They married on 15 May 1874 and had 14 children.
My grandmother's parents were Engelbert ("Engel") Muilwijk (1870-1967) and Kornelia Quivooi, who died young. The got married on 25 May 1900 in Puel. Kornelia's father remarried G.van Gemeren. My grandmother had one brother, Theo, who passed away early. He had two sons, Kees and Hans, both living in Canada, and one half-sister, Truus.

I was born on Sunday 4 March 1956 at the house of my grandparents in Amsterdam (Nova Zemblastraat 18, 2nd floor, front side). The address is now known as number 66.
I have two brothers: Remco Mark (born 19 June 1960) and Dennis (born 14 May 1963). Remco is married (on 29 October1992) to Wilma (born on 16 October 1962) and they have two children: Laura (born 8 July 1998) and Tanja (born 9 March 1996).
My mother's name is Anna Geertruida Elizabeth ('Truus') Hinse and she was born on 10 November 1933. On 21 August 1954 she married my father, who mostly referred to her as 'Ruth' (they were engaged on 1 June 1952). She passed away on 5 March 2009.
My father is Hendricus Antonius ('Henk') Daniëls, born 8 January 1930 (he died on 31 January 2003).
My mother's parents are: Johannes Marinus ('Rinus') Hinse, born 21 February 1904 (he died on 7 December 1987) and Alida ('Da') Veerman, born on 22 March 1901. She passed away on 15 July 1989. They got married at 19 November 1931. My mother has no brothers and sisters but my grandmother had 11 (!!) brothers and sisters: Jan (1893), Harry (1895) , Marie (1897) , Toon (1899), Ko (1903), Meep (1904) , Jet (1905), Willem (1907) , Henk (1910) , Leendert (1913) and Annie (1915).
My grandmother's father was born in Amsterdam on 3 April 1865 and his name was Antonius Franciscus Richardus ('Toon') Veerman (he died 16 March 1941), her mother was born in Den Briel on 26 September 1868 and her name was Maria Jacoba ('Marie') Beijens. She died 2 days before my mother’s wedding on 19 August 1954.
My grandfather had a sister (Anna Geertruida Elizabeth), two brothers (Gerrit and Henk) and twin sisters (Mia and Tonia). His father was Johannes Marinus Hinse (born in 1876 or 1877) and his mother Anna Geertruida Elisabeth Borghoff.
My father's parents are Johannes Hendricus ('Jan') Daniels (born 13 September 1897 and deceased on 9 July 1967) and Catharina Elisabeth ('Betje') Runnenburg, born on 20 November 1897 (she died at the end of the 2nd World War). They got married on 7 November 1928.
My grandfather's parents were Hendricus Anthonius Daniëls and Catharina Henriëtte Ladiges (who was a widow from Gerardus Albertus van Dusschoten). The parents of my grandmother were Johannes Gerardus Runnenburg en Catharina Elisabeth Engels.
My father has two younger sisters: Gon (born 8 December 1937 as Allegonda Johanna) and Bep (born 14 October 1932 as Catharina Elisabeth Wilhelmina).
Bep has three children: Carin (born 2 October 1955) and the twins Ruud & Eric (both born on 1 December 1957). They all have 2 children: Tim & Kelly (Carin), Niels & Anika (Ruud), Leslie & Oscar (Eric).
Gon also has three children: Rosetta (born 15 February 1961) , Femke (born 10 March 1964) and Pam (born 18 March 1968). Rosetta has one son (Damon) who was born on 23 April 1991; Femke has two children: Daniel and Heather.

The source of the family bearing the names (van) Versendaal and Verzendaal is situated in the Western part of the Betuwe, the Netherlands.
The farm-court Versendaal, situated at the frontier of the municipalities Beusichem and Zoelmond, van be found in the archives already in the year 1465. The first inhabitants, bearing this name, can already be found earlier: Wouter Koevoet van Varrendaal, shield bearer, in the year 1421. Probably Versendaal then was a castle in Beusichem.
The inhabitants of Versendaal were acting as a sheriff. In the year 1467 Gerrit van Versendaal, sheriff of Beusichem, is rudely beaten to death, whilst practicing his position. In the year 1565 we don't find the original family on the farm-court anymore. Then a man called Henric Aertsz Verkerck is living at this place. His daughter marries to Aert Thonisz. The descendants of one of his sons, Gobel Aertsen van Versendaal, all are bearing the names of (van) Versendaal or Verzendaal.
Until the year 1800 in the archives the descendants of the earlier families can still be found, bearing the name of van Versendaal. But as from then they seems to became extinct. As far as can be judged now all living people bearing the name (van) Versendaal and Verzendaal are descendants of Gobel Aertsen.
What happened to the farm-court?
Until the year of 1700 the farm-court is inhabited by descendants of Gobel Aertsen. By marriages however the farm-court came into the hands of the Knobbout-family.The last inhabitants were Nic. Bosschaart and G. de Groot. In the year 1967 Mr. Kieboom moved into into the farm.
Around the year 1972 the farm was abolished. The farm did not have the earlier dimensions and status, but nevertheless a period of more than 5 centuries came to an end.
